GLITZERN: One door closes...another one opens

Glitzern, you will be missed!

Moi peeking from inside the store.

Glitzern will officially close their Crossley St store tomorrow! Since opening in 2007, Glitzern has been a modern Melbourne icon, a go-to for amazing jewellery and accessories. Couldn't help but feel a tinge of sadness when I popped in the store today to say goodbye. I still remember walking into the store many years back when I was on a holiday in Melbourne and instantly fell in love with the tiny store that was stocked to the brim with amazing jewellery ! Who would've thought a few years later my jewellery would actually be stocked in there!

It's a shame the store will no longer be around, but this definitely does not mark the end of Glitzern. As their street door closes, Glitzern will be launching a new online store and a christmas pop up shop is also under works. There's also plans for more crazy and exciting projects! So stay tuned for more updates.

Street Style from Paris Fashion Week

photographs by Mr. Newton

These are my favourite picks from the images taken by street style photographer Mr. Newton (love his work!) of chic women on the streets or Paris during the Fall 2011 Fashion Week. So many style inspirations! Makes me want to raid my closet and see what I can mix and match for my next outing during the weekend!

Angelina Jolie for Louis Vuitton's 'Core Values' Campaign

Angelina Jolie is the latest celebrity to pose for Louis Vuitton's 'Core Values' campaign, posing in her own clothes, no make-up and toting her own weathered monogrammed Alto bag. The advertising concept was introduced in 2007 as a way to trumpet the brand's travel roots and showcase its monogrammed leather goods as a balance to its fashion-driven marketing, and to reach a broader audience.

There has been mixed response to the advert but Angelina Jolie reportedly donated a portion of her fees to charity. Vuitton plans to post a teaser on its website, foreshadowing an interview with Jolie that will be posted later in the month. In it, she is expected to discuss how her visit to Cambodia was a life-changing experience, awakening her to the plight of Third World countries.

Aesthetically i think the shot is beautiful, the location, the boat, and she looks gorgeous in the photograph!

Weekend Inspiration

Had lunch on smith st in collingwood on the weekend and went for a stroll around the neighbourhood. Passed by these beautiful houses next to each other that had really nice doors and the walls were a beautiful white, hanging plants and all. Graffiti on the ground that kinda matched the color of my outfit. Styled a shot with the "Candy Love" collection.

Clockwise from top: pink gorilla (stylist's own), Guy Laroche vintage sunnies (stylist's own), skull bracelet from the upcoming "The Grave Escape" collection coming soon in July, Gold Candy 'blueberry' charm bracelet (NEW- click here), Gold Candy 'kiwi' charm bracelet (NEW-click here), Candy Pop 'strawberry' necklace (click here), Rock Candy 'grape' necklace (click here).

PLAY!

COLORS OF SPAIN

skull inspiration

I've recently found this website www.polyvore.com which lets you play and create amazing sets with images sourced from the internet and your own images as well. I've been playing around and it actually gets pretty addictive!

The top set is currently what I'm dreaming of now- summer in Spain! to escape the cold weather here in Melbourne. And the bottom set is my inspiration board for My Secret Agent Lover Man's upcoming collection "The Grave Escape" which will feature gold plated skulls, semi precious stones like tourmaline, quartz, mixed with fresh water pearls. It is definitely my favourite collection to date!

Right now I think I might just get back to playing a little more ;) It reminds me a little of the paper dolls I used to dress up as a little girl, changing their paper clothes and bags. This is like an adult version where you get to mix and match images of places, people, fashion, and words! When was the last time you played? x

Happy Friday! It's the weekend again, and for those of us who are thinking of doing some online shopping instead of heading out into the cold, check out www.youngrepublic.com.au and www.themarketlane.com. Launched only in May and June 2011 respectively, both websites are dedicated to showcasing and selling Australian emerging and independent designers.

The websites feature a wide range of products from fashion to jewellery, and even homewares. Find local designers like el amuleto, das monk, barbarian hussy, elgar & lyle, including my secret agent lover man.

Even some e-window shopping would be something for the senses! Have a nice weekend! x

Winter Warmers

Winter Warmers

Winter Warmers by KIMW. Images sourced from the world wide web via Polyvore.com

Winter here in Melbourne is getting cold! Growing up in a tropical country, the cold weather is something I doubt I'll get used to.

This winter's wish list: over the knee boots! Loving the animal print Roberto Cavalli boots! x

Hello Tuesday!

Hello world! This is the first entry for our new blog which will hopefully be filled with inspirations, words, images, and everything else that will inspire us and make our day magical!

Just to share our favourite quote of the moment:
"I am imagination. I can see what the eyes cannot see.
I can hear what the ears cannot hear. I can feel what the heart cannot feel."
